ARTIST STATEMENT

An adventure, my work explores the world as life takes me through it. It is a blend of figures, places, and non- human life vividly captured by exaggerated, surreal color.

Every year my art has a slightly new focus, but it is always grounded with the experience of life. Friendship, loss, birth, self- knowledge, natural beauty, and the familiarity of home are themes I consistently delve into.

Painting is a process through which I connect with others. I paint for myself, yet my greatest joy is when a viewer connects with the work; a relationship is begun.

Figurative and objective, my work is inspired by the beauty of life and an obsessive love of color.
